Our Mission

The Mission for Touch And Feel Africa (TAFA) is to provide help for students in the Nkhata Bay to receive an education.

This is accomplished in the following ways:

  1. To financial assist a student with tuition, school supplies, uniform and perhaps room and board.
  2. Our 1000 lights campaign which goal is to provide LED/Solar lights for student so they can read and study in the evening after it is dark. Most villages have no power and kerosene/parafin lamps must be used.
  3. Provide equipment such as computers and science labs for the schools.
  4. Financial support for schools to buy basic supplies such as pens, paper and notebooks.
  5. Financial support for classroom and dormitory construction to enable schools to accommodate more students

Goals for 2012

Continued distribution of the Nokero Solar/LED
lights to schools and students in the Nkhata Bay, Malawi.

The sponsorship of students to enable them to attend both regular and boarding school.

The raising of $35,000 for the construction of a girls dorm for Kunyanja School. This is really needed, and the amount of money to make this all work is so small for the number of girls it will help.

Creating and operating a "Bakery" in Mzuzu. With students as employees, the bakery will be an hands on work and learning experience for students. Jobs for students in Malawi are next to impossible to find. The "Bakery" profits wil be used by TAFA to fund school and student projects..
